Privacy Policy

The Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sports and Integration attaches great importance to data protection. Therefore, we also put emphasis on data-minimizing and citizen-friendly data processing in the processing of personal data associated with the fulfillment of our tasks.

Our privacy policy also refers to the processing of personal data within the framework of this Internet presence, including the services offered there.

The purpose of the processing is to fulfill the public tasks assigned to us by law.

Unless otherwise stated, the legal basis for the processing of your data results from Article 4 (1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG) in conjunction with Article 6 (1) subparagraph 1 letter e of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Accordingly, we are permitted to process the data required to fulfill a task incumbent upon us.

If you have consented to processing, the data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) subparagraph 1 letter a GDPR.

If necessary, your data will be transmitted to the competent supervisory and auditing authorities for the exercise of the respective control rights.

To avert threats to information technology security, log data can be forwarded to the State Office for Information Technology Security on grounds of Art. 12 of the Bavarian E-Government Act (for more information, see "Logging").

We store your data as long as this is necessary for the fulfillment of the task, for documentation obligations or due to legal retention periods.

Insofar as we process personal data about you, you are entitled to the following rights as a data subject:

  • You can request information about whether we process personal data about you. If this is the case, you have a right to information about this data as well as other information related to the processing (Art. 15 of the GDPR). Please note that this right to information may be restricted or excluded in certain cases (see Art. 10 of the BayDSG).
  • In the event that personal data about you is not (or no longer) accurate or incomplete, you may request that this data be corrected and, if necessary, completed (Art. 16 GDPR).
  • If the legal requirements are met, you may request the erasure of your personal data (Art. 17 GDPR) or the restriction of the processing of such data (Art. 18 GDPR). However, the right to erasure pursuant to Art. 17 (1) and (2) GDPR does not apply, among other things, if the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority (Art. 17 (3) (b) GDPR).
  • If you have consented to the processing or if there is a contract for data processing and the data processing is carried out with the help of automated procedures, you may have a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
  • If you have consented to the processing and the processing is based on this consent, you can revoke the consent at any time for the future. The lawfulness of the data processing based on the consent until the revocation is not affected by this.
  • For reasons arising from your particular situation, you may also object to the processing of your personal data by us at any time (Art. 21 GDPR). If the legal requirements are met, we will no longer process your personal data.

Further restrictions, modifications and, where applicable, exclusions of the aforementioned rights may result from the General Data Protection Regulation or national legislation.

When you access this or other Internet pages, you transmit data to our web server via your Internet browser. The following data is recorded during an ongoing connection for communication between your Internet browser and our web server:

  • Date and time of the request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested
  • Access status (for example, file transferred, file not found)

For reasons of technical security, in particular, in order to defend against attempted attacks on our web server, we store this data. For using this means of data transmission, we provide a connection encrypted with HTTPS and Perfect Forward Secrecy with TLS 1.2 encryption protocol, so that your data is protected from being read by third parties during data transmission. We recommend that you keep your Internet browser up to date to use this option.

For the correct technical and functional provision of the information we offer, we use the following cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the device you are using.

When visiting our website, additional services from YouTube and other social plugins (such as Twitter and Facebook) are offered via a so-called two-click solution. When you access the website for the first time, no data is transmitted to the operators. Only after you as a user have consented to the opt-in procedure by clicking on the appropriate button, data (including the URL of the current page and your IP address) will be transmitted to the respective operator immediately and for each subsequent visit. As a user, you can thus decide for yourself whether you consent to the activation of these offers and the transfer of data. You can revoke this consent at any time and prevent further data transmission to the operators by clicking on the corresponding button on the homepage.

 

YouTube video integration

Videos from the external video platform YouTube are embedded on our website. By default, only deactivated images of the YouTube channel are embedded, which do not establish an automated connection with the servers of YouTube. Thus, the operator does not receive any data from the user when the web pages are accessed.

You can decide for yourself whether YouTube videos are activated. Only when you enable the playback of the videos by clicking on "Permanent activation" do you give your consent for the necessary data (including the Internet address of the current page and your IP address) to be transmitted to the operator.

To save the setting you prefer, we set a cookie that saves the parameters. However, when setting these cookies, we do not store any personal data, they only contain anonymized data for browser customization. Subsequently, the videos are active and can be played by the user. If you would like to deactivate the automatic loading of YouTube videos again, you can remove the consent checkmark under the privacy icon. This will also update the cookie settings.

Facebook Like Button Integration

By default, only deactivated buttons are displayed that do not yet establish contact with Facebook's servers. Only when you declare your consent with a second click, the connection is established and your "Like" is transmitted to Facebook. Only if you are already logged in to Facebook, your "Like" will be transmitted omitting another window.

Information that you send to us in an unencrypted way via electronic mail (email) can possibly be read by third parties during transmission. As a rule, we are also unable to verify your identity and do not know who is hiding behind an email address. Legally secure communication by simple email is therefore not guaranteed. Like many email providers, we use filters against unwanted advertising ("SPAM filters"), which in rare cases automatically classify even ordinary emails as unwanted advertising by mistake and delete them. Emails that contain harmful programs ("viruses") are automatically deleted by us in any case.

For the purpose of processing the application procedure, the personal data of applicants sent will be processed. The processing may also take place electronically. This is particularly the case if an applicant sends corresponding application documents electronically, for example by email. If an employment relationship with an applicant is established, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with the statutory provisions. In addition, data in the application and hiring process may be transmitted to authorities in the department (e.g., subordinate authority where a position is vacant), to the administrative jurisdiction or to authorities responsible for handling the employment relationship (e.g., State Office of Finance). If no employment relationship is established, the application documents will be deleted after notification of rejection in accordance with the relevant regulations, provided that no other legitimate interests of the State Ministry of the Interior conflict with such deletion. Other legitimate interests in this sense include, for example, a duty to provide evidence in proceedings under the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior is an organizer or co-organizer of events. For this purpose, we process personal data (name, contact details, etc.) of the participants on the basis of Art. 4 (1) BayDSG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) subparagraph 1 letter e GDPR.

 

Where does this data come from?

We collect the data from generally accessible sources (e.g. newspapers or publications on the Internet), directly from the participants in the events (e.g. by providing a form, by e-mail or by telephone) or receive it from other public or non-public entities.

 

What happens to the data?

The data is processed for the preparation and implementation of the respective events (e.g. preparation of guest lists and enabling access controls).

Depending on the type of event, the State Ministry of the Interior acts as co-organizer in addition to other cooperation partners. In these cases, the data collected is transferred to this cooperation partners or, if applicable, to an external service provider, whereby the latter may also only use the data for the proper execution of the event.

The data is deleted when it is no longer required to fulfill the tasks of the State Ministry of the Interior, but at the latest after 30 years.

 

Photo and video shoots, participation of media representatives

Photos and, if necessary, videos are taken at our events and are used for the public relations work of the State Ministry of the Interior. Media representatives are also present at some events.

 

Your rights

You are entitled to the rights described above (see "Data subject rights").

However, in the event of an objection to the processing of your data, participation in the event will not be possible.

Regardless of this, you have the right to object to the publication of photos or videos in which you are recognizable. To object, please contact the inviting entity.

 

The State Ministry of the Interior organizes or co-organizes events at which awards or honors are presented to individuals for special merits. In addition, we are involved in reviewing proposals for awards and honors from other government agencies.

For this purpose, we process personal data of the persons to be honored (name, contact details, reason for the award, etc.) based on Art. 27 BayDSG.

 

Where does the data come from?

We obtain the data from other public or non-public entities or persons or collect it from publicly accessible sources (e.g. from newspapers or publications on the Internet). We also collect some data directly from the persons to be honored (e.g. by providing a form, by email or by telephone).

 

What happens to the data?

The data will be processed for the purpose of reviewing award proposals and for the preparation and implementation of the respective events.

Depending on the award or honor, transmission may also be made to members of the state government, members of parliament, municipal elected officials, cooperation partners and external service providers.

As part of the public relations work, data of the honored persons and the respective award or honor may be published on the website of the State Ministry of the Interior and transmitted to the media for publication.

The data is deleted when it is no longer required to fulfill the tasks of the State Ministry of the Interior.

Your rights
